Small Groups PDF Print E-mail
Each week we meet in small groups, either at church or at someone’s house. Here we talk about boys/girls, moan about homework, eat!, but most importantly, study the bible together and pray. Because we believe that to grow as Christians we must get to know God’s word better, and look after each other – because standing for Christ out there is hard!

If you want to join a group (but are too shy to come alone) speak to Gary and he’ll get your grade leader to phone you about visiting a group – promise you’ll love it!

What are we studying?

This term Parables from Matthew
This term we will be looking at some of the parables that Jesus told.  Sometimes these are difficult to understand and then apply to our daily living so we are going to work hard at understanding them and putting them into practice.  It would be great to see you there.  Take note of the bible study group details below and mail me if you want to know more at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Last term - we studied 1 Corinthians for a while.  It was very much a 'topical' sort of book looking at the type of behaviour that is expected of Christians, of those who are 'spiritual'.  We learnt that:
  • those who teach the bible are God's mouthpieces and we need to listen to them, whether we like them or not
  • we are not to elevate one preacher above another
  • we cannot and must not tolerate sin amoungst ourselves
  • being married and being single are both good and carry with them certain moral expectations by God
  • while we are free to do many things, we sometimes need to sacrifice our rights for the good of others; we are not only to think of ourselves.
  • spiritual gifts are given by God to ALL believers and those gifts are different and must be used in love for the common good, for the building up of the church
  • Jesus really did die and physically rise from the dead; without this belief our faith is useless and we are to be pittied more than all people
