Point Community Church Update August 2009 The Point church plant is coming along well. The little group that met for prayer meetings at the back end of last year has grown to a group of over 30 people now fellowshipping regularly in our three gospel community groups. Last week Sunday we ran the second of our monthly central services at the Peninsula Hotel and were very encouraged by the way God is growing our little work. As already mentioned we now have three gospel communities (small groups). We launched our third one two weeks ago. Two of our groups meet on Tuesday night and the third group meets on Wednesday night. On these nights we come together to share a meal and than corporately reflect upon the glory of the gospel as we study the scriptures together, pray together and think about how we can be a blessing to our communities together. God is giving us lots of exciting in-roads into the community of the Atlantic Seaboard and we are praying to see much fruit from the many relationships we're building. Please pray for Jacques and his wife Lindy as they lead the plant, pray for Robin and I as we support them, pray for Nasco who now leads our third group, and pray for the continued growth and health of the plant, spiritually, numerically and financially. Please also pray for Robin and I as we prepare to go to New York in September for a 6-week church planting intensive training, pray that we will not only learn a lot but that we'll raise the profile of church planting in South Africa and build good partnerships that can help with the future of planting here in Cape Town.
