St Stephens is a constituent church in the Reformed Evangelical Anglican Church of South Africa (REACH - South Africa). REACH was formerly called the Church of England in South Africa (CESA).
REACH has been preaching Jesus in Africa since the early 1800’s and we are passionate about reaching Africa for Christ. Today, this family of churches is spread throughout South Africa, as well as Namibia, Malawi and Zimbabwe. REACH-SA is divided into 5 regions Gauteng, Free State, KZN, Eastern and Western Cape, each of which is led by a bishop.
Theologically we identify with the protestant, evangelical and reformed heritage. We hold to the inspiration and final authority of the Bible, the falleness and helplessness of humanity, the sufficiency of the finished work of the God-Man, Jesus Christ our Lord, the necessity for new birth through the power of the Holy Spirit, justification by the imputed righteousness of Christ received by faith alone, and the necessity for holiness as the only adequate evidence of the new life.
